![]() ![]() I was able to upload at about 1TB / day with max threads. But I also had offline cold stored backups. I don't remember how long I had them both, maybe an extra month or two. Just pause crashplan and keep it as a backup until you are satisfied with BB. You can have them both installed at the same time. Photog here with about 7tb at time of migration to bb. The rep didn’t blink a when I shared my use case. PS - I did reach out to BB tech support a few weeks ago. ![]() Should I cut the cord and cancel CrashPlan? Should I let them run side by side, which is slow, but keeps me “safe”? Should I figure out how to pause CrashPlan and make sure it doesn’t delete my backup after a period of time? How would you set up Backblaze and manage the transition from CrashPlan? I’m expecting it to take weeks or months to get everything uploaded. So I’m just going to do a personal backup. I just need my stuff always current in the cloud in case of das failure (which I just had - thank God for my local copies). I’d really like to seed to B2 but it’s expensive and I don’t really need the features that come with that. In all the homework I’ve done, BackBlaze seems like the best answer. The last draw was them recently telling me that, bc I’m using it the way I am, they won’t even guarantee I can recover my stuff!!! After nearly a decade of paying, that’s where we are. It’s not critical, but I see they’re not really a great answer for me anymore. It’s rare but having access to my whole archive when traveling has bailed me out a few times. ![]() Last week they said they’re no king supporting the palm. Every year or so, I need to go in an adjust the memory management because the app chokes and freezes. With a 6TB max for migration,I literally spent a ton of time reuploading 5TB of stuff they wouldn’t migrate. Note: a few years ago they forced us to switch to small biz accts. In exchanges with them, they say that it’s designed for Small Biz networks and my use case (personal backup) isn’t really ever going to work well with them at my scale. I get that cataloging takes time but the apps runs a LONG (sometimes over a day) maintenance seemingly a few days a week. I’ve also been concerned about how long it takes to upload files. My photo DAS contains 12TB and the app runs VERY slow. After many years with CrashPlan, I think the time has come. ![]()
